UP FROM THE ASHES...

Today marks four years since an EF5 tornado devastated the town of Joplin, Mo. More than 150 people lost their lives in this tragic event. It looked like a bomb had gone off. Entire neigborhoods were reduced to rubble, trees stripped of all their leaves and branches, even the grass was torn from the ground leaving the bare dirt in it's wake. But out of the ashes has risen something beautiful and powerful. A worship movement has emerged with steady strength and determination to host the presence of God in a way that brings hope to all those who encounter it.

This movement is built on community. Worshippers all over the Southwest Missouri area are valuing connection and relationship with each other more than personal preferences or worship styles. Since February 2015, worshippers have been gathering regularly for 24 hour worship sessions held at different church locations through out the area. To date, more than 30 different worship leaders have joined and almost as many churches have been involved.

"I don't know if I've seen unity among churches and among groups like we did there (in Southwest Missouri)...you could see people were really hungry for God."
