The Faith of Sarah

I have been thinking a lot lately, about the faith of Sarah. We hear so much about the faith of Abraham. He was a great man of faith, the father of many nations. It's true, and it's true that Sarah gets a mention in Hebrews 11:11. But have you ever really stopped and thought about the kind of woman she was. She must have possessed immense strength. She went on a great journey with her husband to an unknown land. She was placed in the harem of a foreign king (not your finest hour Abe!) She struggled with infertility for decades, and still had faith for a child of her own. Abraham gets most of the credit for that one, but she was there, definitely participating. She carried and birthed a child when she was 90 years old! I've had 3 and it was no picnic, so I cannot imagine the strength it took physically and emotionally for her to do that. Her faith produced a miracle that would one day become an entire nation. That is some kind of amazing legacy.

We are pregnant with purpose, destiny and future.

You and I are called to be like Sarah. We are pregnant with purpose, destiny and future. We give birth to ideas, creativity, and solutions to problems. We are strong, intelligent and capable. We nurture, guard and protect life and family. When things get hard, and it seems like the answer isn't coming, we press on. We refuse to quit because we know that the God of heaven and earth resides in us, and He is faithful to do what He has promised.
