THE DAY I BELIEVED THE LIE

I remember the day I believed the lie. It was the first day of second grade. My parents had just divorced and we had moved. I was standing in the breezeway between buildings at a new school. It was like a scene in a movie as I stood there, lost, watching people walk past me in what seemed like slow motion. I heard the words, "You're invisible." That day, I chose to believe a lie, one that affected me for years. Eventually, a teacher saw me and helped me get to my classroom. But the damage was done. I had already heard, and believed the enemy. All of my life I have believed that I was essentially invisible. Countless times I have heard the words, "I'm sorry, I didn't see you" or "You were there? I never saw you". None of those things are abnormal. But I took them to heart, and let the enemy use them to back up the lie.

It was like a scene in a movie as I stood there, lost, watching people walk past me in what seemed like slow motion.

The lie of invisibility goes hand in hand with the orphan spirit. It's an effective tool that the enemy uses on a lot of people. Invisible people never tell their story. Invisible people never make an impact. Invisible people don't do great and mighty things! Invisible people cannot be used to advance God's kingdom on the earth. They are rendered ineffective.

If I am the child of the Most High God, I cannot be invisible.

The day I believed that I am not an orphan was the day I lost my invisibility. That day I stepped into the sunshine of life. The day that I stopped believing that lie was a day of birth for me. If I am the child of the Most High God, I cannot be invisible. He knows the number of hairs on my head. He sees my coming and my going. He sees me, He knows me, He loves me and He has good plans for me, and my story!

Never believe the lie of invisibility! You are not invisible. You are valuable. You are not irrelevant. You are irreplaceable. You are not fearful. You are a force to be reckoned with. You have a story to tell, and the world is waiting to hear it!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Luke 12:7

Lord, you have seen what is in my heart. You know all about me.

Psalm 139:1
