RESURRECTION'S REVOLUTION

A couple thousand years ago, world history turned the corner. Jesus, the spotless, blameless, Son of God did something so profound that a million years from now, we will still be unpacking it's provision and breakthrough. Some of the depths of what Jesus did will remain a mystery for now, but there are a few things that we can know for sure.

Jesus ushered in the birth of a new world.

Jesus ushered in the birth of a new world by defeating the powers of darkness. Rather than adopting the modern mentality of the western church that His life and sacrifice was just an answer for mankinds moral dilemma, we should take a more holistic view of the revolution that Jesus' sacrifice started in the known universe. Jesus' crucifixion was the catalyst and launch of God's kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. The powers of darkness were forever defeated resulting in a stunning new beginning that will evenutally culminate with heaven and earth becoming one.

This heaven on earth kingdom is here to stay.

This heaven on earth kingdom is here to stay. The death and resurrection of Jesus has sealed that forever. His sacrifice has given birth to something that was entirely impossible beforehand, that we could become just like Jesus, sons and daughters of God, the Body of Christ in the earth, His representatives ushering in a new rule, a new reign, a new life demonstrated by our love and displays of redemptive power.

We have an invitation to become one with God.

God's purpose in Christ is that heaven and earth would come together, and in that coming together we would see as a result a unified church, a new man rising out of the division between Jew and Gentile, man and woman, slave and free. As this new man, there are still battles to fight, still more ground to take, and still more lives to be won. But one thing will forever remain, is that Jesus has made the decision to become one of us, and in doing so has invited us to become one with God.

His resurrection is an invitation into a revolution.

His resurrection is an invitation into encounter, an invitation into a revolution that has already unseated the once ruling authority of the powers of darkness. Heaven's provision has now become the earth's possession and we are the ones taking possession of it. We are laying down our lives to partner with Him in an authority that pushes back darkness until His presence fills everything in everyway.

Creation is groaning for our revelation and heaven is cheering us on.

As sons and daughters of God, we are hosting heaven, transforming all of creation, and carrying redemption until everything that is broken has been healed. We are changing the options for the earth and the earth is crying out for us and the answers that we carry. It was and always will be about Jesus, His love, His mercy, His sacrifice, His victory, but we cannot ignore the role that we play as sons and daughters of God in the earth. Creation is groaning for our revelation and heaven is cheering us on as we continue to unify with one heart, one voice, and one love, that the world may know.

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

John 17: 20-23 NIV
