GENERATIONS

Forty years ago there was a generation that was involved in a great move of the Kingdom. We called it the Jesus Movement. People found Jesus and fell in love with Him. A new style of music and living for Jesus swept across the land.

Many in that movement had dreams of a worldwide revival that pushed back the darkness and ushered in a new way of doing church.

New churches were started looking for ways to be full of the Spirit and relevant to those in the world, hoping to attract those who were disconnected from God.

Marriage, children, careers and politics also became part of the lives of those in the Jesus Movement. The cares of the world choked out much of the passion as they matured.

In many cases, the new churches reverted back to the old system and were no longer on the cutting edge of Kingdom life. The fire had grown cold and the dreams of changing the world grew cold, as well.

There was a sound that did shift the atmosphere during and after the Jesus Movement but it was a worldly sound not a heavenly sound.

Now, a new generation is rising with fire in their hearts and have a great desire to change the world and bring about the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

As one who lived through the Jesus Movement and saw many great opportunities to advance the Kingdom but the full potential did not happen, I'm asking this new generation a question...

Will you be a generation who was on fire but lost the intensity. or will you be the generation that fulfilled their destiny and equipped the future generations to furiously advance the Kingdom of God?
